Kia launched the EV2, a compact, affordably priced European-market EV offered in two battery trims, but it will not come to the US soon.
At the heart of the Varg SM lies a carbon fiber sleeve motor capable of producing an astounding 80 horsepower, rivaling traditional 450cc gas-powered dirt bikes and even outperforming some sport models. For an electric bike designed with versatility in mind, that level of output is remarkable. It delivers instantaneous torque, silent acceleration, and a responsiveness that transforms even mundane commutes into kinetic experiences.
Ford says the STX is the result of customers' constant requests for more driving range and comfort features on the entry-level model. And I think the American auto giant delivered in a big way. With the same 123-kilowatt-hour Extended Range battery pack as the Flash fitted as standard, the 2026 F-150 Lightning STX has a targeted EPA-estimated driving range of 290 miles on a full charge-up from the 240 miles of the now-discontinued XLT model, which had a smaller, 98-kWh battery pack.
Three years ago, I set off on an 800-mile road trip between Montreal and Toronto (and back again) in a Ford Mustang Mach-E. The goal? To probe the pain points of using a battery-powered electric vehicle for long-distance travel along one of the busiest routes in Canada. Although the end result was a success, that victory was qualified by an indictment of Toronto's EV charging options (pretty painful across the board) and my own lack of initial planning (inexcusable, to tell you the truth).
