In his rookie season with the Toronto Marlies, Tverberg put up a decent showing with nine goals and 23 assists in 46 games played. Then last year, those numbers dropped to just four goals and seven assists through the same number of appearances. Taking a major step down instead of a step forward, it was a disappointment of a season, and this year Tverberg needed to show he could return to form.

Playing mostly in the AHL, Quillan is putting up solid numbers for the Toronto Marlies through the first five months of this year. In 30 games played, he has nine goals and 20 assists, tallying nearly a point per game. His goalscoring pace reflects only a slight improvement over last year, but he's already passed last season's assist total (19) in less than half as many games. Quillan is evolving as a playmaker without losing his ability to grind out crucial goals.

After beginning his professional career with only 48 points through his first 124 AHL games. Many people were quick to write off Matthew Maggio in his value as a New York Islanders prospect. But this season Maggio has completely turned it around, and the stats are there to prove it. Maggio has turned heads with his play this season. Maggio has started the AHL season with 4 goals and 16 points in his first 21 games.

Lambert had a strong AHL rookie campaign, but it seems like frustration set in last year when that initial success didn't lead to a spot on the Jets. His numbers declined and now in his third year in North America and not being an NHL regular, Lambert is pleading for a change of scenery and depending on the price tag, the Leafs should consider being that landing spot.

With the recent successes of the San Jose Sharks' first-round acquisitions, it can be easy to forget 2022 first-round pick Filip Bystedt. The 27th overall pick has been slower to develop than his fellow first-rounders in the Sharks' organization, especially considering the recent emergence of 2024 first-round pick Macklin Celebrini, 2023 first-round pick Will Smith and potential arrival of 2025 first-round pick Michael Misa.
