The Colorado Avalanche traded Oskar Olausson, their 2021 first-round pick, to the San Jose Sharks for two-way forward Danil Gushchin. Olausson struggled to establish himself in the NHL, appearing in only four games and recording no points. In contrast, Gushchin showed more success in the AHL, achieving 51 points and a career-high 28 goals in 56 games. He has played 18 career NHL games, cumulatively scoring five points, and was an All-Star during the 2023-24 season. Olausson recorded 66 points over three seasons in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles.
