"As of the time of this writing, we've discovered four types of Adaptations in Subnautica 2. These come from large tree-like structures known as Angel Combs. A couple of these can be obtained fairly easily, since you only need to interact with the pink bulb. The rest, however, require a bit of patience and effort."
"Note: In Survival Mode, you have to acquire Adaptation upgrades as you progress. But if you're playing on Creative Mode, you don't have to worry because all Adaptations are available right from the get-go."
"Adaptation #1: Pressure Tolerance Effect: Allows you to breathe highly pressurized air. This means your oxygen level won't be depleted if you're not submerged. Location: Found in the hab during the prologue just before you escape via the Lifepod."
"Your goal is to cleanse the Angel Comb, which has two tendrils emanating in opposite directions. The tendrils themselves have multiple glowing blue pustules known as Bloom Cankers. To destroy the Bloom Cankers, you need to craft the Sonic Resonator tool so you can blast them with it. Once all the Bloom Cankers on both tendrils have been destroyed, return to the Angel Comb and take out the remaining nodules. Upon cleansing the Angel Comb, you should be able to interact with the bulb to receive this reward."
Adaptations in Subnautica 2 come from large tree-like Angel Combs and change character DNA to grant new abilities. Four types of Adaptations have been found so far. In Survival Mode, Adaptations must be acquired as progress is made, while Creative Mode provides all Adaptations immediately. Pressure Tolerance is obtained in the hab during the prologue before escaping via the Lifepod. Digestive Adaptation is located about 180 meters north-northeast of the Lifepod near the Anita blackbox recording. Higher Temperature Tolerance is found near the Wander blackbox recording. Angel Combs must be cleansed by destroying Bloom Cankers using a crafted Sonic Resonator, then removing remaining nodules and interacting with the bulb to receive the reward.
