Villa de VOID is a residence situated between neighboring buildings, accessed via a narrow alley. It comprises two distinct levels: a semi-basement and a first floor, each with separate entrances. The semi-basement's limited height of just over 2 meters posed challenges, particularly in connecting it effectively to the first floor. A key design issue was ensuring adequate ventilation and airflow in this enclosed setting. The design aimed to create a more open living space that encouraged family interaction, especially for a family working and spending time at home.
Villa de VOID was tucked between surrounding buildings, only coming into view after navigating through a narrow alley. The house consists of two separate units: a semi-basement and a 1st floor, each with its own entrance.
The semi-basement, with a ceiling height barely exceeding 2 meters, felt more like a storage space, necessitating an effective connection with the 1st floor.
Ventilation and natural airflow were significant concerns due to the building's tight enclosure by neighboring structures. The design process aimed to address these shortcomings.
The family spent extended hours indoors, prompting a vision for a more open and connected home to foster interaction among family members.
