Michael and Davina transitioned from renting to purchasing a six-bedroom house in London to find a family home. After a comprehensive search, they settled on a property that needed significant renovation, primarily to modernize the cramped kitchen and dining areas. They engaged architects Ross and Emma Perkin to redesign the layout while preserving the house's historical Edwardian features. The renovations aim to improve functionality and enhance the living experience for their growing family.
"Although we both loved the idea of putting our stamp on a house, we weren't exclusively looking for a project as such, but the house we ultimately bought was undeniably the one that was in need of the most renovating."
"The kitchen and dining areas were cramped and separated, and due to the fact the house is on a slope, on different levels... the stepped-level arrangement of smaller, separate rooms is typical of the era."
