Interior designer Lucy Harris faced the challenge of personalizing a brand new townhouse for its first occupants. The clients appreciated the home’s existing features, including its bright interiors and favorable outdoor spaces, and sought special touches rather than major renovations. Over a year and a half, Harris and her team developed a subtle color palette, integrating natural materials and playful geometric patterns. The design reflects a balance of modernist influences and the serene vibrancy of nature, resonating with the family's desire for a peaceful and functional home.
The homeowners, a couple with a very young family, had a clear focus, Harris said. "They wanted a peaceful, functional family home."
That may make it sound quicker and easier than it was. Harris and her team, spearheaded by designer Michael Warren, spent a year and a half crafting a subtle color palette.
