Briefly

The renovation of a significant work by Indonesian architect Andra Matin aimed to balance preservation with modern innovation. The project faced various challenges revealing structural issues, but the goal was to transform the building into a community-centric cultural hub in Kemang, Jakarta. The interior design promotes flexibility and modular use, while being crafted predominantly from recycled materials. The concept focuses on creating an engaging environment for hands-on participation, with areas designated for movement, learning, and self-care, supporting a holistic community ecosystem.
Our mission was not just to restore the building, but to reimagine its purpose - bringing it back to life as a cultural and community-driven destination.
Instead of traditional fixed architecture, we treated the interior more like a large-scale installation within a gallery, allowing for adaptable use.
Most of the structural elements are crafted from over 11 tons of locally recycled plastic, showcasing the project's commitment to sustainability.
This is more than a store. It is a self-care community center, built around five core pillars: movement, meditation, learning, listening, and nourishing.
