Place Tenaquip is an 18-unit permanent housing project located in a transitioning neighbourhood of Lachine that repurposes a long-abandoned tavern into dignified residential space. The project serves people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, providing warm and welcoming accommodation. Led by the Old Brewery Mission, the initiative was made possible through collaborative support from multiple stakeholders including the Tenaquip Foundation, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Société d'habitation du Québec (SHQ), the City of Montreal, and Fonds de solidarité FTQ. The architectural design transforms the historic structure into functional, compassionate housing.
