Casa Solai, designed by Studio Saxe, is located in Santa Teresa's coastal hills and emerges seamlessly from its jungle surroundings. The design features two contrasting pavilions, one grounded in the volcanic landscape and the other elevated above it, creating a unique architectural interplay. The structure features an open-air central space that blends indoor and outdoor living, making use of natural ventilation. Locally sourced materials enhance the home’s connection to the environment, and the entire atmosphere is designed to engage with the climate while respecting the tropical setting.
The design centers on two distinct volumes that create a fascinating architectural dialogue. One pavilion stays grounded, rooted to the volcanic landscape below, while the other floats above the treetops, capturing ocean breezes.
As you stroll through Casa Solai, you feel like you're moving through a carefully choreographed dance with nature. The fragmented composition creates beautiful moments of discovery, revealing something new about the landscape.
