"Each of the 93 apartments within Out of the Box features a unique floor plan, fostering flexibility and engagement with the exterior forms that define the tower."
"The grid structure grounds the building in its urban context, while the dynamic box-like shapes create usable outdoor and indoor spaces in Taipei's dense environment."
MVRDV's Out of the Box is a 25-story residential tower in Taipei's Tianmu neighborhood, designed to enhance spatial experimentation. Comprising 93 uniquely arranged apartments, each apartment is tailored to create a distinct living experience, harmonizing with its box-like, geometric form that punctuates the skyline. The design incorporates generous outdoor terraces and communal spaces, promoting a connection between residents and their environment. The tower's marble-clad grid juxtaposes with the playful volumes to maintain order while offering cross-ventilation and natural light. Community amenities integrate seamlessly with the urban context, fostering social interaction and contributing thoughtfully to the neighborhood's fabric.
