House Next Door / Guelo Nunes Arquitetura
Briefly

The renovation of the house in Alto de Pinheiros aimed to transform it into an appealing rental property while efficiently managing costs. Key improvements included integrating the house with its garden, creating flexible and functional living spaces, and converting all bedrooms into suites. Attention was given to the house's entrance, which was previously unwelcoming, by redesigning it to be more inviting. Durable, low-maintenance materials were chosen, enhancing the aesthetic appeal and accommodating a diverse range of potential renters without frequent renovations.
The main entrance was one of the project's biggest challenges, as it forms the first impression of the house. Previously, a narrow, dark, and unwelcoming hallway greeted visitors. This first impression takes a crucial role in choosing a rental property, so we dedicated a lot of design time to solve this issue in a simple way.
Our proposal integrated the house with the garden, introduced new openings, and added a new gourmet area that includes a bedroom on the second floor.
We focused on specifying materials that require little maintenance since upkeep is handled by the owner, intending to add a charm to the spaces without being overwhelming.
We aimed to design fluid and generous spaces, capable of accommodating various uses and layouts, allowing the house to adapt to different renters without needing modifications.
