Gothic Revival - Pugin's early sketches go on display at the V&A
Briefly

The V&A Museum has recently showcased a collection of early sketches by Augustus Pugin, the leading figure of the Gothic Revival. The display highlights his designs for various structures, including the Palace of Westminster and numerous church commissions. Significant collaboration with metalworker John Hardman Jr. and builder George Myers is evidenced in the sketches, some adorned with personal notes and amendments. The exhibition, "Makers of Modern Gothic: A.W.N. Pugin and John Hardman Jr", is available until October 2025 and is free, making it a must-see for Gothic architecture enthusiasts.
If you're a fan of the Gothic Revival, this is a wonderful chance to see the original drawings that inspired some of the country's richest decorated buildings.
The collection consists of the drawings sent to Birmingham metalworker John Hardman Jr. and to London builder George Myers.
