Hogar Florencia, part of KUSKA in the Sacred Valley of Cusco, is designed to harmonize with the mountain climate and traditional Andean architecture. It features a Studio and Workshop, employing thick load-bearing adobe and stone foundations for thermal efficiency. The Studio, split into upper and main sublevels, emphasizes natural light with large openings and a solar-absorbing earth wall. The Workshop, with high ceilings, is dedicated to production, and connects the spaces through arches and terraces. The roofs mimic traditional styles, enhancing the unity and aesthetic of the structure while ensuring functionality in its mountainous environment.
The design of Hogar Florencia reflects a thoughtful integration of Andean architecture principles, ensuring thermal efficiency and a visual connection with the surrounding landscape.
The Studio's configuration allows for natural light to flood the space, with tall doors and strategically aligned openings that create a continuous visual connection.
