'My neighbour could smell smoke and could hear my dog barking,' Ishia recounted, highlighting the community's crucial role in saving her pets during the fire.
The fire, caused by a plug in the wall, left the family displaced as they sought temporary accommodation while their home was boarded up.
Ishia emphasized the emotional toll of the fire, stating: 'A lot of sentimental stuff got damaged... my mum's more affected because it was a safe space for her mental health.'
