Thread designed and delivered the transformative regeneration of Buttermarket in Redruth, Cornwall. The site comprises five Grade II-listed buildings around a large central courtyard. Originally established in 1825 for agricultural sellers and market stalls, the complex accumulated extensions that obscured its architectural character and fell into significant disrepair. The works preserve and reveal historic character while creating a welcoming arts-led community hub. The redevelopment provides studios and spaces for artists, supports food entrepreneurs, and encourages local community use. Conservation of listed fabric and sensitive adaptation enabled reuse while maintaining the site's town-square-scale presence.
