Alpina Architects has completed a modern addition to the BS Hof House, a 19th-century farmstead in Northern Italy's Nova Ponente. The addition is designed thoughtfully to respect the historical architecture while accommodating the growing needs of the client’s family. Rather than altering the farmhouse proportions by adding an attic, the architects effectively utilized the sloping terrain to construct a new volume that enhances the existing structure's character. This project demonstrates a successful blend of modern design and traditional materials, ensuring the farmstead's integrity is preserved while expanding its functional living space.
