Blue-accented kitchen by Fariz Mamedov in Almaty, Kazakhstan
"Am I really a designer? Is this real?"
"It feels like a fairytale."
"Interior design has become not just a profession but my whole life."
Fariz Mamedov grew up in a small town in Kazakhstan, pursued music professionally, taught voice, and studied journalism while supporting his family. He bought an apartment so his parents and sister could join him in Almaty and took on decorating their new home himself. Drawn to design since childhood, he documented finds and projects on Instagram and YouTube, attracting followers and his first clients. Growth led to FM Interiors, a digital portfolio, and representation by an American publicist obtained via a cold call. High-profile features include projects in prominent international design publications, and he continues designing for repeat clients.
