Beihouse is a transformative project in Beirut's Gemmayzeh district, reimagining three 19th-century houses into a vibrant social club after being heavily damaged by the 2020 port explosion. Collaborating with architects Dagher Hanna & Partners, the project preserves historical integrity while integrating modern design elements like corten steel and high-performance glass. The buildings have been adapted with new programs, featuring additional floors and a floating terrace that unifies old and new. Local artisans contributed to the project's craftsmanship, reinforcing a connection to Beirut's cultural roots and creating a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike.
The design of Beihouse harmoniously merges traditional materials with modern elements, preserving Beirut's architectural heritage while creating a vibrant social club for community engagement.
Through careful restoration and adaptation, Beihouse transforms three historic Lebanese houses into a dynamic space that honors the past while inviting contemporary experiences.
