Taylor Greeley and her partner Markus transformed their 50-square-foot bathroom by making strategic but budget-friendly renovations. They worked with contractor Jeff Abate to remove dated drop ceilings, adding six inches to the height for a more spacious feel. They replaced old cabinets with butcher block shelving to optimize storage, and painted to refresh the space. Taylor learned that even minor updates greatly impact the overall aesthetic, leading to a modern bathroom that feels more personalized and open.
"I was surprised to do minor renovations and have them hold such a big impact," Taylor says. "I was convinced we would need to get a fancy shower or move the vanity, but what we did in there did the trick."
"Our bathroom is oddly big for what it is, and your eye was initially drawn to the floor... [It] felt dated with no personality," Taylor says.
