The Hudson Valley Log Cabin No One Wanted
Briefly

Furniture designer Jake Szymanski spent nearly two years searching for an untouched house in Hudson Valley, eventually discovering a neglected 1952 log cabin. Despite its shabby state, he felt a connection to the home and began renovating. He restored the cabin's original pine floors, modernized the kitchen, and used fabric designs to brighten the interior decor. After two years of work, the cabin not only became a beautiful home but also the site of his marriage to his husband, creating lasting memories in their restored space.
"You couldn't tell the original color. It was gross, gross, gross."
"The logs have a very sort of orange hue to them, so the fabric was my solution to giving me something to look at that's not just logs."
