"The five-story residential building restores an urban block within the dense fabric of Koekelberg, a mixed quarter in Brussels. On a plot formerly occupied by a derelict industrial shed, its distinctive brick architecture is reminiscent of the many interwar residential and industrial buildings in the vicinity."

A five-story residential building reconstitutes a continuous urban block within the dense, mixed-use quarter of Koekelberg in Brussels. The project occupies a site that previously contained a derelict industrial shed, converting an underused gap into new housing. The design employs distinctive brickwork that deliberately references the interwar residential and industrial typologies prevalent in the surrounding area. Massing and proportions align with adjacent buildings to repair the street edge and reinforce urban continuity. The material choice and scale create a visual dialogue with neighboring architecture while delivering contemporary residential accommodation across five floors.
