"The Publisher and the Public": An Essay by Alexandra Grant (Keywords: Art; Authorship; Freedom of Speech; Public Sphere)
Briefly

The artwork 'Everything Belongs to the Cosmos' features six large paintings based on original poems by contemporary Polish women poets. The project, initiated in response to increasing political conservatism and threats to women’s rights, aims to create a reflective space akin to a chapel. The featured poets span various generations and levels of recognition, including Nobel laureate Olga Tokarczuk. The artist, in collaboration with editor Marcin Orlinski, intends for these paintings to celebrate and amplify the voices of women writers in Poland.
"My intention for the suite of paintings is to be a platform to showcase living women writers... to highlight the current writing scene in Poland."
"The paintings are based on poems by Polish poets, each interpreting an aspect of the cosmos, creating a chapel of women's voices."
