Angela Ducey and her family experienced a terrifying night in Killavullen, Cork, when a large tree fell onto their home due to violent winds. The tree struck their roof, causing significant damage, particularly to an upstairs bedroom where her daughter, who has epilepsy, typically sleeps. Fearing for their safety, Angela opted to sleep downstairs with her daughter while her husband stayed on the sofa. After the incident, emergency services were contacted, and the family was eventually evacuated to a hotel for safety, leaving them without any of their belongings.
Then, at 12.30am, it was like for all the world like a bomb hit the house. The entire house shook.
My fear was that if we took her upstairs last night that if we had no electricity I might not be able to bring her downstairs.
