Renee Bornstein, who has died aged 90, was a remarkable woman of strength, resilience and grace. As a child of Jewish parents in wartime France, she experienced extraordinary challenges, including a harrowing interrogation by the Gestapo in a prison cell at the age of 10.
Despite her traumatic wartime experiences, Renee Bornstein went on to have a happy adult life in Munich and Manchester, where she worked as a property manager while raising her children and grandchildren.
