Remembering Aida Link Brenneis, avid traveler who called Berkeley home for 101 years
Briefly

Aida Brenneis, born in 1922, led an extraordinary life filled with diverse talents, including serving as an accompanist, calligrapher, scholar, costume designer, set builder, actor, singer, and dancer, all while still a student.
She traveled extensively over her 101 years, driving at least one million miles, visiting places like the mountains, Los Angeles, Disneyland, the 1962 World's Fair, and many California beaches. She even built her dream house in the Berkeley Hills, using stones and shells collected from the beaches.
Aida's love for the theater began in high school and continued throughout her life. She was involved in the theater at UC Berkeley, where she met her future husband, Jon Brenneis, succeeding him as Manager of the Cal Little Theater.
