Camping twice a year with my family as a child was filled with adventures. I would wait up and sneak out to explore the bush, feeling like a wild animal in the dark.
There was a certain thrill in the nighttime escapades; knowing I had to return by 4am to not get caught by my sleeping parents just made it more exciting.
One late night, I startled some fishermen while exploring. The sight of a muddy-legged girl with leaves in her hair scared them more than I expected!
The wildness of those nights gave me immense joy and freedom, despite the fear of being discovered. It was an unforgettable part of my childhood.
