Lucy Letby, the NHS neonatal nurse convicted of murdering seven babies, scribbled distressing notes including "I am evil, I did this" to cope with severe stress.
At her trial, evidence revealed Letby had a troubling fascination with her victims' families and kept personal notes detailing her feelings of guilt and fear.
Materials presented at trial included a Post-it note where Letby confessed her crimes, saying, "I killed them on purpose because I am not good enough to care for them."
Despite being advised by her GP and hospital bosses to document her emotions as a coping mechanism, Letby's notes reflected deep self-hate and panic.
