Hill's series, which embraces the Afrofuturism art movement, explores the identity, history, and experiences of the African diaspora through vibrant imagery reminiscent of the New Color Movement.
The project began as a simple album-cover photo shoot for his friend, AfroPop musician I$$A, who wanted to involve the community during a tumultuous time in history.
Hill noted that the intense period during Covid, the fires, and George Floyd's death added complexity and hyperrealism to the images, showcasing the profound realities faced by the community.
