I understand that this young woman isn't responsible for what happened to us, but I have no desire to hear how wonderful her family is or what it was like to have a father who stuck around. I know I'm going to be upset by that and I'm worried my emotions around everything would bring the vibe down and be unfair to both of you as you try to connect.
