When I was posing for the cover of 'Coping with Helen Lederer', I was trying to capture the idea of being the perfect hostess. I featured a quirky mix of canapés, including Weetabix and Liquorice Allsorts on a skewer, which was a playful take on self-help books before the genre became saturated.
I have never considered my appearance as my strongest asset; I always understood that my look wasn't conventional. Yet, there was a distinct allure in my youth that I was aware of, although I wouldn't say I was obsessed with my looks.
