On June 6, the 2024 IndieWire Honors ceremony will celebrate 13 creators and stars responsible for some of the most stellar work of the TV season. Francesca Sloane, co-creator and showrunner of 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith,' will receive the Breakthrough Award, acknowledging her ascent in the industry.
Francesca Sloane found solace in writing stories from a young age, using it to connect with the world around her. Despite never imagining turning storytelling into more than a hobby, she received the Breakthrough Award at IndieWire Honors.
'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' showcases the talents of Maya Erskine and Donald Glover, with Sloane's integral involvement. The camaraderie among Sloane and the Glovers is rooted in shared childhood experiences and a similar sense of humor.
