The Six Triple Eight recounts the remarkable true story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the only Women's Army Corps unit of women of color during WWII. Comprised of 855 women, they were tasked with sorting through 17 million pieces of mail to deliver to American soldiers, overcoming discrimination and completing their mission in just 90 days. The film, based on the life of soldier Lena Derriecott King, shines a light on their bravery and significant contributions that were largely overlooked in history.
It's very jarring and very few and far between that a script comes through and shocks you in this way,
