Bisexual in the Bible Belt, am I the problem-or is it the South?
Briefly

Growing up Black and sexually fluid in the South presented distinct challenges shaped by race, gender expectations, and lack of representation—forcing me to hide my true self.
The rigid scripts of masculinity dictated how I should walk, talk, and love, leaving little room for my true identity to emerge and flourish in public.
Media representations of bisexuality often painted characters as selfish or deceptive, leading to deep internal conflict as I fought to accept my multifaceted identity.
Even within LGBTQ+ spaces, masculinity was prized, and my sexual fluidity led to suspicion, reflecting the struggle of fitting in as an outsider in every circle.
