Author Katherine Rundell donates royalties to climate charities in Trump protest
Briefly

Katherine Rundell has decided to donate all future royalties from her book, The Golden Mole, to climate charities as a direct response to Donald Trump's re-election.
Rundell emphasized the urgency of climate action in light of Trump's presidency, stating: 'The election of a climate-change denier to the US presidency is a catastrophe for all of us. It comes at a time when the planet has never more urgently needed our protection.'
The author highlighted the dire situation facing those on the frontlines of environmental advocacy, noting the risk to Indigenous communities and environmental defenders: 'Protecting forests is often a deadly risk for Indigenous peoples and local communities... 207 environmental defenders killed in 2017.'
Rundell expressed gratitude for the organizations she supports, saying, 'I am so grateful that these groups are there, fighting for the planet, and the people most at risk.' She plans to share royalties with both Blue Ventures and Forest Peoples Programme.
