The Gaza health ministry reported that Israeli forces stormed the hospital, detained hundreds, and caused two children in intensive care to die due to power loss.
Israeli military operations in the area of the hospital were asserted to be based on intelligence regarding terrorists. Previous raids had led to evacuations of patients.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus remarked that the W.H.O. staff had previously escorted many patients to safety, amidst fears that escalating conflict could endanger lives within the hospital.
