Iran's Foreign Ministry has criticized the overnight US strikes in Iraq and Syria, calling them violations of both countries' sovereignty and territorial integrity. The ministry also stated that the attacks support the goals of Israel and overshadow the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
The attacks merely support the goals of the Zionist regime. Such attacks increasingly involve the US government in the region and overshadow the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza, it said, referring to Israel.
Iran urged the United Nations Security Council and the international community to prevent the expansion of the crisis and emphasized that stability and security in the region can only be achieved by addressing the root cause of the tension, which it believes is the Israeli occupation and military operations in Gaza with US support.
The return of stability and security to the region cannot be imagined but through focusing on the root cause of the crisis and resolving it, it said.
