They expressed gratitude for the support they have received and clarified they do not feel stranded despite the extended duration of their mission. Wilmore refuted Elon Musk's claim that political factors led to their situation, stating that their careful planning allowed them to adapt to changes. Their scheduled return in March will mark over nine months in space, during which they've been trained to handle various scenarios.
When asked if they had a message for people who have been worried about them, Wilmore said: 'We're thankful for your support.'
Wilmore said: 'Political reasons - I have not heard that. I'm not sure that that could be the case based on what I know.'
'That's not how we feel,' refers to the characterization of them being stranded.
'There's many ways to characterize it, stranded I don't think is one of them,' Wilmore told GMA.
