Russia could give China submarine tech that would cut into US undersea dominance, US admiral says

Adm. Samuel Paparo emphasized that Russia is likely to provide advanced submarine technology to China, threatening to diminish the US' undersea dominance in critical regions like the Indo-Pacific.

Paparo pointed out that the military partnership between Russia and China is strengthening, stating, 'This is a dangerous environment, and this is adding complexity to the environment itself.'

Highlighting the significance of undersea dominance, he noted, 'Undersea dominance is key for the US, especially in the Indo-Pacific, which includes the waters around Taiwan and the South China Sea.'
