Israel has resumed its attacks on Gaza, killing at least 404 people, including many children, and injuring more following a fragile ceasefire that began on January 19. The assaults have targeted various regions within the Gaza Strip, including previously designated safe zones. Israeli military officials urged civilians in certain areas to evacuate, claiming they would become combat zones. Despite a ceasefire agreement meant to end ongoing hostilities, numerous violations by Israel resulted in substantial casualties and humanitarian crises, with over 350 documented violations since the ceasefire began.
Israeli warplanes launched a massive assault across the Gaza Strip early on Tuesday morning, killing at least 404 people, including many children, and injuring numerous others. The death toll is likely to rise as many people remain under the rubble of bombarded buildings.
In a statement on X, the Israeli military's Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee ordered residents of various areas to evacuate immediately, saying their neighbourhoods will become dangerous combat zones.
The deal, which took effect on January 19, included a ceasefire to halt the destruction inflicted on Gaza, the release of captives held in Gaza in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
However, Israel violated the ceasefire numerous times from January 19 to March 17, killing at least 170 people in Gaza, averaging nearly three deaths a day.
