Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian foreign minister, plans a tour of Pakistan, Russia, and Oman to explore reopening peace talks aimed at a US-Israeli commitment to cease attacks on Iran. Discussions will also include a new governance arrangement for the strait of Hormuz. Pakistan hopes for a restart of bilateral talks with US negotiators, but both sides remain firm on their demands. Iran insists on lifting the US blockade of its ports, while the US seeks assurances on Iran's nuclear program and its blockade of the strait.
