In her poignant letter from Gaza, Maram Humaid highlights the ongoing neglect and suffering faced by Palestinians amidst escalating global conflicts. While other regional wars briefly capture worldwide attention, Gaza continues to endure relentless bombardment without a semblance of a ceasefire. Humaid articulates a deep sense of isolation and hopelessness, emphasizing the inability of world leaders to deliver essential aid to those suffering in Gaza. Despite the intense conflicts elsewhere seemingly resolving, Palestinians remain in a dire state of survival, stripped of dignity and hope for a better future.
The world has chosen to forget Gaza, as wars erupt and end elsewhere, leaving us isolated, abandoned, and feeling worthless as our dignity is erased.
We prayed that the end of the war between Israel and Iran would perhaps help end the one that is being waged on us. But we were wrong.
