Jack Draper withdrew from the US Open because of increasing discomfort in his arm. The 23-year-old was the fifth seed and had been considered a contender after reaching the semi-finals at Flushing Meadows last year. Draper won a challenging first-round match against Argentine qualifier Federico Agustin Gomez in four sets on Tuesday. He was scheduled to face Belgium's Zizou Bergs on Thursday but pulled out before the match. Draper attempted to prepare and play, but the arm discomfort became too severe, leading him to prioritize his health and recovery and withdraw from the tournament.
