Study: Women, people of color underrepresented in top jobs

Women and people of color are underrepresented among those earning $100,000 or more in higher education jobs, with white women holding 41.1% of top-paying jobs, while white men held 39.5%.
Pay gaps between women and white men worsen with age in higher education, and older women experience more severe pay inequity. Hispanic men also face greater pay gaps with age.
Well-resourced universities consistently pay women less than men, impacting pay equity for women. People of color have better representation at universities with deep pockets.
Recommendations from the study include conducting pay audits, improving recruitment strategies for people of color, enhancing retention strategies for women and people of color, and including them in succession planning.
