Keir Starmer's voice coach' says press coverage of her work was misogynistic
Briefly

Leonie Mellinger criticized the media's portrayal of her role in advising Keir Starmer during the Covid crisis as both inaccurate and misogynistic. She clarified that her work focused on enhancing Starmer's emotional connection with his audience, rather than simply coaching his voice. Mellinger expressed offense at the sexist undertones of the press coverage, arguing that it contributed to broader societal issues regarding violence against women. The controversy intensified after her interview for a book on the Labour party, leading to political ramifications including calls for investigation from Conservative figures.
I was particularly offended by some of the misogynistic angles that some of the press took, and the nudge nudge, wink wink innuendo, which was deeply offensive and would never have happened had I been a man.
Mellinger said she was aghast at the furore around her work with the then leader of the opposition, which snowballed after she gave an interview for the book Get In.
