Roberta Lenghel, who once feared water after a near-drowning incident, transformed her life by committing to swimming lessons, ultimately qualifying as a full-time instructor within two years. Initially aspiring to be an air hostess, her inability to swim led to rejection and a pivotal choice to confront her fear. Through consistent practice and support from her instructor at Becontree Heath Leisure Centre, her confidence and passion grew. Now a Level 2 instructor, she helps others face similar fears while promoting water safety during Drowning Prevention Week.
