Women harmed by vaginal mesh in England get payout
Briefly

More than 100 women who experienced pain and complications from transvaginal mesh implants have received undisclosed payouts from manufacturers, marking the first successful group claim in England.
Lisa Lunt, a partner at Pogust Goodhead, emphasized that many women suffered chronic pain for years, with strict 10-year time limits preventing others from claiming compensation.
Kath Sansom from Sling the Mesh described the successful group action as 'groundbreaking,' but highlighted that it would only benefit a small portion of the estimated 40,000 affected women.
Pelvic mesh, once hailed as a gold standard treatment, has caused serious complications for many women, affecting their mobility, relationships, and overall quality of life.
