With less than three months before the WNBA season, collective bargaining negotiations remain deadlocked over salary structure and revenue sharing. Nneka Ogwumike and union executive director Terri Jackson traveled to Nashville to update players on efforts to secure a "transformational" collective bargaining agreement. The union authorized calling a strike Dec. 18 "when necessary," though executive committee treasurer Brianna Turner said a stoppage does not feel imminent and described the situation as a waiting game. The league sent a revised proposal Feb. 6 with reported concessions on housing and facility standards but no major change to revenue sharing. Athletes Unlimited opened its fifth season in Nashville with 40 players, 26 of whom had WNBA roster ties and varied contract statuses that heighten their exposure to CBA outcomes.
