Weekend Activities in Kansas City: Top Things to Do for a Memorable Trip
Briefly

One of my favorite things to do when I have a free weekend is to spend a day out and about downtown. From the WWI museum (a great spot to see the KC skyline) and Union Station (beautiful interior architecture), you can hop on a free tram up to the River Market for a Saturday farmers market in the summer. Visit some antique stores along the way, then head down to the free Nelson Atkins Art Museum to cool off before doing some shopping in the Country Club Plaza. Enjoy an evening picnic at one of the many beautiful parks in the city: I highly recommend Loose Park. End the night at the Power and Light district with a couple of drinks.
As a unique touch to your Kansas City weekend activities, carve out time to explore the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Its stunning collection spans centuries and continents, but what truly makes it unforgettable is the museum's sculpture garden. Strolling among the massive outdoor installations, including the iconic Shuttlecocks, blends art and nature into a peaceful escape from the city's hustle. It's a must-add to any new resident's weekend itinerary.
