'Snow White' slammed by 'Little Women: LA' guest star over use of CGI dwarves: 'We were shut out'
Briefly

The backlash against Disney's live-action 'Snow White' continues as actress Ali Chapman criticizes the decision to replace the seven dwarfs with CGI characters instead of casting talented little people. Chapman, alongside her husband Matt McCarthy, expressed disappointment over missed opportunities for real actors and actresses, emphasizing the impact of such choices on the careers of little performers. With the new film set to feature voices of various actors but no proper representation among real performers, both Chapman and McCarthy call for Hollywood to rethink casting decisions that honor diversity and authenticity.
It's a movie that's supposed to have real dwarves. Instead, Disney chose to use CGI to replace actors and actresses that are little people that are very talented.
All the little people out there that are freaking actors and actresses that love to have parts in this kind of movie, and everyone's trying to get their dreams come true.
That's seven roles right there. Seven little people that could've filled those roles, and unfortunately we were shut out of that opportunity.
Let's not go in the direction of CGI. Let's cast people that deserve to be in those roles, especially when it's for little people. That was made for us.
